Galloping Gossip: 2006

Celebrity Big Brother 5 has been confirmed to start airing on Wednesday January 3rd 2007, ending February 9th, and will run for five weeks instead of three as was the length the year before.

Channel 4's Angela Jain has promised that there will be surprises in store for Celebrity Big Brother 2007. On 12/06, Jain released the following information

There will be lots of surprises and twists.
The house has been redesigned for the winter.
Some of the ex housemates from this summer’s series will be acting as “roving reporters and our eyes and ears on the ground”
There will be more celebrities than ever before
The series will feature more twists, more turns and producers are hoping it’ll be the biggest and best series yet.
The series will also use the house next door again

Angelia Jain gave hints on the Celebrity Big Brother House "Regarding the house layout, they had this to say: “As the house was designed with an inside/outside theme in the summer we’ve had to remodel it quite a bit for the winter weather (no-one wants to eat outside in January!). But it is essentially the same house, bold and ornate - and there will still be nowhere to hide. You’ll have to wait until launch night to see what any new features might be..."

Conflicts

Boris Johnson has announced surgery dates for 2007, which see him meeting his constituents twice during the run of the show.
Tommy Sheridan said he turned down the offer as there was no guarantee that his political views could be communicated. However on another note says he has not received an offer, but hinted he might be interested - he was looking into it.
Saddam Hussein has been sentenced to death, therefore ruling out any chances of him coming on the show.
Derek Acorah has shows booked throughout January/February 2007.
Kevin Federline, is set to appear on WWE on January 1st.
Adam Ant stated on his website saying he was not offered, nor did he want, a chance to take part.
Dale Winton, is presenting Supermarket Sweep in January.
Su Pollard, is in Panto until a few days into CBB5.
Marc Almond, stated on his website that he hadn't even been approached.
Michael Carroll (lottery winner) & Rebecca Loos are supposedly doing a TV show together where Loos tries to teach Michael the art of seduction & good manners.
